ARKit tracks facial expressions using 52 blendshape parameters, each representing a specific movement such as blinking, smiling, or opening the jaw. This reference explains every parameter and shows an animated preview of its movement.

Eyebrows

Parameter	Notes	Preview
BrowInnerUp	Raises the inner ends of both eyebrows, near the bridge of the nose.
BrowDownLeft	Lowers the left eyebrow.
BrowDownRight	Lowers the right eyebrow.
BrowOuterUpLeft	Raises the outer end of the left eyebrow.
BrowOuterUpRight	Raises the outer end of the right eyebrow.

Eyes

Cheeks and nose

NoseSneerLeft	Wrinkles and lifts the left side of the nose in a sneer.

Jaw

Mouth

MouthClose	Brings the lips together to close the mouth.
MouthSmileLeft	Lifts the left corner of the mouth into a smile.
MouthSmileRight	Lifts the right corner of the mouth into a smile.
MouthFrownLeft	Pulls the left corner of the mouth downward.
MouthFrownRight	Pulls the right corner of the mouth downward.
MouthDimpleLeft	Pulls the left mouth corner sideways and slightly inward, forming a dimple.
MouthDimpleRight	Pulls the right mouth corner sideways and slightly inward, forming a dimple.
MouthUpperUpLeft	Raises the left side of the upper lip.
MouthUpperUpRight	Raises the right side of the upper lip.
MouthLowerDownLeft	Pulls the left side of the lower lip downward.
MouthLowerDownRight	Pulls the right side of the lower lip downward.
MouthPressLeft	Presses the lips together more firmly on the left side.
MouthPressRight	Presses the lips together more firmly on the right side.
MouthStretchLeft	Stretches the left mouth corner outward.
MouthStretchRight	Stretches the right mouth corner outward.

Tongue
